A Plea for Peace

“We don’t have to say or think what we don’t wish to. We have a choice in those things, and we have to realize that and practice using that choice.”
— Rolling Thunder, CHEROKEE

“The Red Road is a circle of people standing hand in hand, people in this world, people between people, in the Spirit world, star people, animal people, stone people, river people, tree people…The Sacred Hoop. ” ~Lakota Indian

In my journey on the Red Road I have learned many wonderful things from the music to the beautiful dances and especially the love Creator has for and wants for us. He also wants us to share that love with all creatures great, small, winged, legged, animal, plant, mineral… And of course people with different skin colors; red, white, black, yellow, purple, blue, well you get my point. ALL creatures we see. Most religions and faiths believe this too.

Somewhere along the way people changed. People have become intolerant, selfish, self-centered and especially dishonest. They dislike, even hate, people who are different from them in many ways. The color of one’s skin, their belief in a Higher Power, their religion or faith, anything the person is or does that’s not “right” or “normal” in their eyes. What we don’t seem to understand is how this affects the ones we are judging, gossiping and talking about others hurts them. Let’s look at just a few examples of this.

It’s no secret that this past presidential election was especially nasty. It didn’t help that we’ve been so divided nation for some time now. There’s something that this country has had for a long time besides our freedoms. That is the ability to come together and heal as a nation after heated and controversial elections. Never have we been so divided as we are right now.

Whether or not you voted for President Trump there’s one thing that can’t be denied. Since the election is over he has brought jobs back and has reached across the political aisle and has invited those who’ve opposed him to come and talk. Heck, Mitt Romney was one of his biggest and worst critics yet he went AND was being looked at for Secretary of State. One of the biggest reasons he probably didn’t get the position was because President Trump didn’t want the country further divided. And these a just a couple of the things he’s done.

I implore anyone reading this, please, PLEASE, for the sake of our country and your own sanity, give President Trump a chance. I can’t imagine ½ of you who oppose him like living with such anger and hate in your heart. I know I for one can’t stand it. Stop listening to what news media, their pundits, and social media has told you. Just look at what he’s done for Americans in the past 2 months so far.

Thought for the day: “We must learn to live together as brothers(and sisters) or perish together as fools.” ~Dr Martin Luther King Jr

About Bella’s Thoughts. This is a project that I began in my mind a number of years ago when I began reading some daily meditations. I had my own thoughts on many occasions and attempted to journal many times without success. It began to take shape when I took on another project for a Spiritual Advisor and dear friend who past away. To learn more about me read my very first blog post.
