On This Inauguration Day

My response to the Never Trumpers and “Not My President “ People

On this inauguration day, January 20, 2017, I wanted to share some thoughts. My goal is not to cause a greater divide in the country but to get people thinking and maybe even talking about the issues that this great nation faces.

Before I go on, allow me to get a few things out of the way. I am not a racist, homophobic, sexist. misogynist, Islamophobe. I am not a Democrat, a Republican, a Conservative, nor a Libertarian. I am not a member of the Green Tea, Alt Left, Alt Right, Socialist or Communist parties. I vote for the best candidate that I feel will best serve the people. I am a person who looks at information from all sides and then I come to a reasonable conclusion. I have pretty much considered myself a follower and normally I would never written something like this, let alone post this for the world to see.

I am a typical white woman with mixed nationalities who has lived an average life. I was raised in a blue collar family, in a blue collar small town who got average grades all thru school. I have seen and enjoyed the best in life and the worst. I have struggled in life and I have been given rare opportunities. I am a woman who attempts to be a friend to all regardless of age, race, sexual identity, creed, religion or lack of religion. I don’t care how much money you have, who your friends are, or how you’ve lived your life.

I am no better and no worse than anyone reading this – no matter where you are in the world as you read this. I give respect when it is given and I can be disrespectful if I’m disrespected. I just find myself so disgusted with everything I’ve seen and heard with this election

Anyone who has read a few of my more political blog posts, you know 2 things; 1) I hate politics and I hate talking about politics. 2) I am not Politically Correct. I am of the mindset that it stifles and even kills free speech. I am a shoot from the hip, tell it like it is no sugar coating it kind of woman.

Now that that’s all out of the way. This is my way of responding to all of the “Trump Haters”.

I am ok with…the election results and I understand you’re feeling disappointed that your candidate didn’t win. I felt the same way 4 and 8 yrs ago when President Obama was elected then reelected.

I’m ok with…the fact that Mr Trump is the 45th president. Tho he was not my first pick but I was definitely not thrilled that Mrs Clinton did win the Democratic primaries especially what did, or didn’t do, for my home state. Yes, there were plenty of reasons to dislike, and even hate, Mr Trump, however, he is our 45th president, whether you like it or not and he deserves the same respect that I gave Mr Obama.

I’m ok with… political disagreements. I have an open mind and i want to hear, see or read and understand all sides of the coins. This kind of stuff helps me to evolve and grow into a wiser old woman. I have argued with the best of them in my lil corner of the world.

I’m ok with…the fact you want to be a sheeple. A sheeple is a combination of “sheep” and “people”. It is a derogatory term that highlights the passive herd behavior of people easily controlled by a governing power which likens them to sheep. It’s used to ridicule people for their blind conformity as opposed to those who think independently.”

I am NOT ok with… these the ridiculous antics that have occurred before and after the election. Protest if you must but for heaven sakes, be respectful!! There’s absolutely no need to riot, loot and burn buildings, or even yourself like at least 1 protester did.

I am NOT ok with… the fact that colleges and some employers gave people permission to take a day or more off from school/work, and cancel tests. I sure as hell think it’s utterly childish to have therapy dogs, coloring books, play doh, hot cocoa and whatever else to cope with the election results. Did you need your diapers changed and your binky too? Do you feel insulted by that statement and question? Good because I’m insulted and even embarrassed by your behavior.

I’m NOT ok with… Your behavior because you didn’t get your way in a DEMOCRATIC election you’re acting like a spoiled brat. You’re upset because your candidate won the popular vote but lost the electoral vote. I totally get that. As a point of information, this is not the first time an election like this happened. It has happened in the years 2000, 1888, 1876, and 1824. I’ll let you look up that information yourself. I respectfully ask that you pull up your big boy/girl panties and suck it up buttercup.

I’m NOT ok with…lies, partial or half truths, and twisted stories like the flurry of “stuff” I’m hearing and seeing these days from the news media. . This election cycle I saw a lot of it and I continue to see it. I generally get my news from one news channel and every time I see anything on another channel I see nothing but the hypocrisy, twisted stories, lies and half truths and it disgusts me. I know that not everything you hear, see or read is true. “There’s his side of the story, her side of the story and somewhere in the middle is the truth”. This is especially true when it comes to “stuff” on the internet.

I’m NOT ok with…fake news. One anchor from one of the news networks said it perfectly regarding current trends of news reporting. “There are no rules anymore. Allegations become convictions, gossip and innuendo becomes fact. Standards on the internet and for much of the establishment or nonexistent.”

I am NOT ok…with the country I live in and love being run by an elite group group of politicians who regularly live by a double standard . They care more about their donors than they do for the people who elected them.

I’m NOT ok with…all this boycotting nonsense. It’s just another way to bully someone.

And finally, I am NOT, I repeat, NOT ok with… the bullying of any kind but especially the crap I’ve seen and heard of. Whether you’re JQ Citizen or JQ Student or even JQ Actor or Singer. And don’t get me going on the African-Americans who were haranged because they supported Mr Trump. If anyone who’s being a sheeple and saying you hate President Trump so you’re not bullied I encourage you to stand up against the others. There are others who are standing up in support of him and getting backlash. Citizens, actors and singers all standing up in support of President Trump and getting called names. When you were a child in school and being bullied maybe you hear the saying “Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me”.

Thought for the day: Just as you(the protester) can voice your thoughts and feelings about our new president, so too do I have the right to voice my thoughts and feelings about your embarrassing and ridiculously childish behavior. If you don’t like it your choices are 1) go to your safe space with your coloring books, pet therapy and hot cocoa, 2) go home and give President Trump a chance, 2) move to another country that is fascist, communist or socialist if you think your life would be better there.
