Your Thoughts

Something to ponder…

Have you ever heard “The mind is the devil’s playground “? Many times we are alone with words and thoughts in our heads. Sometimes those thoughts are good and sometimes not so good. A lot of times these thoughts we have influence the words we speak or our actions. Thoughts like thinking we are a good, kind, caring person and loved by our peers to being bad, stupid, unworthy of love & unwanted by our peers. Thoughts of doing something nice for someone or stealing from them and the list goes on.

For the most part our thoughts aren’t harmful(the bad thoughts) until we act, speak or believe them. On top of that our thoughts, when they go from our minds and thru our mouths, wind up influencing our children. This makes the cycle of good or bad thoughts and beliefs about oneself and the world continue on for generations.

Can you imagine what would happen if only we would all use our thoughts for good(ie love, kindness, compassion)? Can you imagine how much better our world could be – just by thinking positive thoughts? Imagine this positivity in every person on this Earth and that positivity passed down thru our children, our children’s children and so on.

For the longest time I thought I was a bad person. I told myself this too. My dad used to jokingly sing this song when us girls were picking on him, “Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I’ll go eat worms…” That’s how I felt. That I was ugly and I should go eat some worms.

Unfortunately, when we continuously tell ourselves that we’re bad or ugly, eventually we’ll be bad or ugly. It’s easy for us to tell ourselves how bad we are but how do we convince ourselves that we’re good? I was suggested to try something a while back. Get a bunch of sticky notes and a mirror that you use every day. Write down a bunch of positive things, as many as you can think of. Then takes those notes and cover the mirror with them. Each day at the same time, preferably in the morning, take a note down, read what’s on it and repeat that word or phrase all day long. By the time you get done taking notes down you’ll have the mirror all clear to see the beautiful you that you are inside and out!!

I challenge all of you to do something today. Smile at someone, even a stranger on the street or give someone a hug today. I guarantee that not only the other person will feel better, but, so will you!
